SPE National 2025

Volunteer training session 1 with co-coordinator, Tom Leininger

And that’s a wrap on this year’s SPE national conference! This was my first year working the conference as a Volunteer Co-Coordinator. The last few days included long hours, lots of scheduling changes, and running around to make sure everything was as it should be. The days were also full of inspiring lectures, meeting new people, and having the privilege of seeing work from photographers around the country.

Thankful for the lectures I had the chance to sit in on, and for getting to participate in the first SPE National print exchange. Luckily, I was able to pull off a print edition of new work before the conference. (Preview below.)

I enjoyed working with Co-Coordinator Tom Leininger and our student volunteers who helped make sure the conference ran smoothly. Thank you to all the volunteers for their time and positive attitudes. We had a great group of 45 students this year!

At the end of the conference, one of my student volunteers gave me a thank-you card, and I almost cried. Thankful for the people I’ve met through the SPE community. Hope to see everyone again next year at National in Atlanta! #spe2025
